The Madikwe Safari Lodges can be found in the central eastern region of the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve situated within the North West province of South Africa. Easily accessible by road and air, it is a four and a half hour drive from Johannesburg, a two hour drive from Gaberone, Botswana and a mere forty five minutes by air from Johannesburg.
The Madikwe Safari Lodges consist of the 3 private lodges, Lelapa Lodge, Dithaba Lodge and Kopano Lodge, comprising of 20 luxury suites in all. Each suite has its own Gym-in-a-basket comprising of dumbbells, exercise mats and a core strengthening ring and a completely private plunge pool to cool off in.
Lelapa Lodge is set on a hill affording its 12 luxury suites a wondrous view of the game reserve. Lelapa is the Tswana word for “family” and this lodge offers the ultimate in luxury family accommodation. Friendly and conscientious staff go to extremes to ensure their guests have a bush experience to remember.
Sumptous meals are served in either the indoor or outdoor dining areas and can relax in the bar lounge, stroll around outside or absorb the amazing bushveld atmosphere whilst star gazing from the verandah.
Dithaba Lodge is situated a little higher up a mountain and has amazing panoramic views of the savannah plains that teem with wildlife. Dithaba is the Tswana word for “mountain” and is so apt for this glorious establishment.
This lodge can be exclusively booked for a family or group and the highly skilled and knowledgeable staff consisting of a private lodge manager, a chef and a field ranger guarantee guests a truly enjoyable and memorable safari experience.
Guests may choose to wither dine at the indoor or outdoor dining area, relax in either the library lounge or indoor lounge complete with a roaring fireplace for chilly evenings and stargaze in either the outdoor lounge or authentic boma.
Kopano Lodge is the ultimate of luxurious accommodation in the Madikwe Safari Lodge collection. Focusing on exclusivity, the four de-luxe suites offer privacy in the extreme. Stylish open plan design creates a natural flow from outdoors to the interior enhancing the unique bushveld atmosphere. Kopano is the Tswana word for “small gathering” and this lodge is so aptly named.
Delicious meals are served in both the indoor and outdoor dining areas depending on the weather and guests can relax in either the library lounge, the cosy indoor lounge with its blazing fireplace, the outdoor lounge or Boma.
The abundance of wildlife in the Madikwe Game Reserve is world renown with regular sightings of zebra,wildebeest, giraffe, african wild dogs, both the brown and the spotted hyena and elephant as well as the big five. With recorded sightings of over 350 different species, this is a birdwatcher's paradise.

Children under the age of 2 are not permitted on game drives and children between the age of 2 and 5 are only permitted on the late morning drives.
