Notten’s Bush Camp a lovely family lodge in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, Greater Kruger National Park. It is one of the first private game lodges in South Africa. Notten’s provides a true African safari adventure, and is appreciated for its immaculate service levels and hearty hospitality.
Safaris are offered in open-roofed Land Rovers allowing for an adventurous discovery of the reserve's prolific wildlife, which includes the Big 5.
The Sabi Sand Game Reserve is an outstanding natural haven noted for its great concentration of animal and bird life. Walking safaris allow visitors the chance of discovering the riches of the place from nearby.
After an adventurous safari, guests may spend idle moments around the shining pool or have a massage at the Nature Spa. At nightfall, the sounds of the African night provides an appropriate backdrop while feasting in the enticing candlelit boma beneath the stars.
Accommodation comprises beautifully appointed suites with open-plan bedrooms and bathrooms, all with indoor and outdoor shower facilities. Windows and sliding doors are fitted with screens and insect coils are provided. The suites lead onto private wooden decks with a splendid view of the bush.
Paraffin lanterns and candles replace electrical lights for atmosphere and overhead ceiling fans provide cooling in the rooms. A main phone line and facilities for the recharging of electronic devices are available in the lodge's reception.
Two rivers supply the game reserve with water - the Sand River and the Sabi River. These rivers make sure that the reserve holds one of the richest and most varied wildlife populations in Africa. Animal species exist in abundance, whilst the ever-changing bird life provides enthusiasts with rare spots.
Wildlife viewing - inclusive of the Big Five - is second to none. Sabi Sand allows for quality viewing of leopard (the most elusive of predators), and elephant, lion, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and a wide variety of antelope and other species. It is further home to several endangered species.
A checklist of the reserve would yield at least 320 tree-, 44 fish-, 28 amphibian-, 112 reptile-, 490 bird- and 140 mammal species. The species exist in their natural habitat - preserved in its original glory - which has only been a wilderness area.
